CREATIVE WRITING (FICTION) with Michael Bross – 6 weeks/9 hours (Adults: 18 & up; younger w/permission)

DATES & TIME:
Tuesdays, 6PM – 7:30PM, October 4th through November 8th.

COST:  $60 members;  $75 non-members (excluding materials) 

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 
This 6-week session will focus on the art of creative writing. Participants will develop and share their own work in a collaborative workshop environment.

Note pad and writing implements.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: 
Mike is an adjunct professor at both the University of Scranton and Montclair State University. He holds a master's degree in Poetry and Creative Writing, and recently won the Art by the People Poetry Chapbook Award for his poetry book.

THEATER ARTS with Christina Noone – 6 weeks/9 hours (Young Adults: 13-18; younger with permission)

DATES & TIME:  
Wednesdays, 3:30PM - 5PM October 5th through November 9th.

COST: $95 members; $110 non-members (Minimum of 6 participants required;maximum 10)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: 
Learn about theater art history and various acting methods, including those of Hagen, Miesner, and Stanislavski.  Build confidence working on movement and voice techniques, essential tools for any actor and budding professional.  Monologue presentations and scene work will round out the experience.  

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: 
Christina is a NEPTA award winning actor with a background in theater arts, dance, and voice.  She earned a B.A. in Theater from Florida State University and an A.A. degree in Secondary Education from Drexel University. As a professional artist, she studied at the HB Studio in NYC- which teaches European acting technique and centers around Uta Hagen's approach - one of the studios' master instructors until her death in 2004. Christina and her husband, Eric, are co-owners of the Frogtown Restaurants. Both have been instrumental in the success of our local community theater group, Theatrical Gems, and have held lead roles in many of their productions.
